This is not merely a new delivery option.

It is a preview of a different civilization.


The Significance of the "18 Drones"


The idea of a Walmart location operating with a relatively small fleet of drones is particularly important.

A drone hub can operate as a compact automated logistics system rather than a traditional delivery depot filled with vehicles and drivers. The significance isn't really the number 18.

The significance is what happens when 18 becomes 180, then 1,800, then tens of thousands of autonomous aircraft.

At that point, we are no longer discussing an interesting retail experiment.

We are discussing a new transportation network.

For centuries, civilization has organized transportation primarily on the ground.

We built:

  • roads,

  • highways,

  • bridges,

  • railways,

  • tunnels,

  • parking lots,
